This is just an expression-drawing exercise I made up: Take two existing pictures, copy them, and then swap the characters' expression. It's more fun if the characters or the art styles are really different....Also, I'm not the only person who thinks that Creepy Katara's expression looks like the Mona Lisa, right?

I spent all day today practicing drawing proportions, and in the process I started figuring out various characters' height-proportions (how many heads tall they are). I thought I'd post them up here in case they're helpful to anyone besides me.

I've been meaning to do this for quite a while now, but I am finally ready to begin my screencap adventure for Tales of Destiny!

ToD was my introduction to the Tales series. I just found it at random in a bin of used Playstation games when I was a kid, and I've played it many, many times since then. I loved seeing an RPG with a sense of humor, and the battle system wasn't like any other RPG game I'd ever played. The game focuses on an idiot swordsman with long blond hair and his kickass magic-using girlfriend who's obsessed with money, and they save the world and stuff. There's also a heartless mystical swordsman (voiced by Midorikawa Hikaru) and a priestess named FPhilia. And there are shenanigans aplenty.

So maybe some of you can see one of the reasons I love this game so much.

But no, it's really just a fantastic game in its own regards. Hopefully, some of you will find that you agree with me.

If anyone missed it, Namco's got a survey up for Tales fans. Everyone who sees this needs to vote for Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut to be localized, for the love of God.

I went to Emerald City Comic Con on March 13-14, and Sakura Con on April 2-4, and completely failed to make any mention of it in this LJ. Sorry for the fail, but I'm remedying that right now.

There may be one or two of you who know that, aside from this account and my personal LJ account, I also have an account called sakirants, which I use for babbling about various fandom-related things that I think a few people besides me consider funny. It occurred to me recently that that's kind of, you know, stupid, and keeping track of three accounts is more trouble than it's worth. So, in order to simplify things, I've decided to move everything from sakirants over here, and change up the design of sakicons to match sakirants. The posts I'm moving from sakirants to here will be backdated to the date they were originally posted, so I'm hoping that that will save everyone's flists from being crushed under the onslaught. If it does screw up anyone's flist, I'm very sorry and it won't happen again. Conversely, if you want to see what new things I've added, they'll all be under the tag "content: rant," just like this post.

It's unlikely, but on the off chance that there are any Slayers fans here that aren't members of theslayers, you should definitely check out this post. That community is putting together a fanbook composed of fanart, fanfics, cosplay photos, or whatever else you want to submit, and anyone who's a Slayers fan should definitely go take a look.
